We're excited to introduce ourselves as the new Innkeepers and Hosts of the Belle Aire Mansion Guest House! We're the Gates Family - Cass & Steve with 6 1/2 year old twins named Ky and Maisie. We first fell in love with Galena and the Bella Aire Mansion in 2020. We've spent most of our lives living on the edge of the Driftless Region in NE Iowa. With the help of our friends and family, we successfully moved into the Belle Aire Mansion and our doors are as open for guests as always. We're honored to have the privilege to continue the legacy that Jan and Lorraine Svec built and look forward to welcoming you home soon!

Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him. In 1987, two Chicago-area sisters, Lyn and Lorraine, and their husbands Mike and Jan, realized a dream. Together they purchased the beautiful Belle Aire Mansion Guest House just minutes from Main Street in Galena, IL. With their families, they moved to Galena and began doing what they really wanted to do: provide gracious and comfortable lodging for guests traveling to Galena for a relaxing getaway. A year later, Lyn and Mike moved and began their own bed and breakfast with in-town convenience, while Lorraine and Jan continued to run Belle Aire Mansion Guest House with its country pleasures. Lyn and Mike have since retired from their bed and breakfast. Lorraine and Jan were the "keeper of the keys" at Belle Aire Mansion Guest House for 37 years. Dedicated innkeepers, they took pride in sharing their home and welcoming travelers from all over the United States and abroad. They provide that warm, caring personal service that is missing in the large establishments. That exemplary service is so rewarding for both guest and innkeeper alike and we hope to keep the tradition strong.
