Belle Aire Mansion Guest House, a bed and breakfast inn located on 11 acres, just minutes from Main Street in Galena, Il. This quaint, historic town, paralleling the Galena River, was established in 1832 as a lead-mining boom town. The largest port between Minneapolis/St. Paul and St. Louis, Galena at one time boasted more population than Chicago. In Galena's historic district, 85% of the buildings are listed on the Historic Register, and was the hometown of Ulysses S. Grant before and after the Civil War.
In Galena, you will find many unique shops and top notch restaurants from steak houses to authentic Mexican to Italian. Something for everyone. Almost every weekend, Galena celebrates with special events like "Wine Lover's Weekend," Oktoberfest, and Jo Daviess County's Country Faire, a wonderful craft and entertainment weekend.
Belle Aire Mansion is a circa 1836 home with 3 guest rooms and two romantic fireplace/whirlpool suites just at the Galena City limits. The innkeepers, Jan and Lorraine Svec, have been the keeper of the keys for over 26 years, and have had the opportunity to meet people from all over the United States and the world. The conversation around the breakfast table is always interesting and lively. We serve a full, hot breakfast each morning between 8am and 10am and offer an early morning coffee service just outside the guest rooms for those who need a cup of coffee or tea to get moving in the morning. We also cater to special dietary needs.
We are noted for romantic getaways, but are also family friendly and gladly accept children. We welcome family reunions and girlfriend's getaways.
